After completing a physically and mentally challenging Sniper School, they actively seek out hostile territory where they can observe and recon information back to their headquarters. Military snipers work within the military. They can give valuable information to negotiators, dissolve a situation without lethal force, or take a life to save life. Law enforcement snipers work in close quarters and when they have to shoot, it is shorter distances usually less than 100 meters. These snipers are usually on call 24 hours a day. Sniper jobs can be found in two main locations вЂ“ law enforcement and military. They have to do all of this in any and all conditions without being seen, heard, or detected. The team has to be prepared for different wind speeds, elevations, shooting positions, light conditions, angles, bullet drop over distance, gravity, and sound masking. Both are trained in both jobs, this way they can take turns and avoid fatigue. Snipers almost always work in teams вЂ“ a sniper and a spotter. ItвЂ™s more than just aiming and pulling the trigger. Snipers need to have a clean background check, as they are becoming masters of a deadly skill. They are in prime physical and mental condition and must pass tests to prove this. Snipers hone these skills through constant training, competition, and real world sniping. A trained sniper is an expert at shooting, camouflage, spotting, orienteering, stalking, reconnaissance, observation, infiltration, surveillance, target marking, map reading, sound masking, and much more. Snipers are glorified for their shooting skills, but snipers do a lot more than just squeeze a trigger. Sniper skills are not skills you will master at a 9 to 5 job. They are both good additions to the team: at first I thought I didn't want to continue with the series and that Pontus and Isabelle would never be able to fill in the gaps left by Linda and Stefan but the series has now bedded in and I'm comfortable with it. He was also overt about Wallander's perceived favouritism for Isabelle, which is just that, perceived. Sweden seems to have a lot of the 'broken society' we talk about here. I liked all the stuff about his father and his son, it explained a lot and it was surprising. He's nailed several crimes though with pics cleverly left on phones and cameras, technology which is natural to him and his generation, yet seems to pass the older ones by. He's a typical straight out of university distingquished graduate who appeals to the desk bound Kristina but irritates all the school of life older men. I think we're meant to realize he has something of the young Wallander in him, as did Stefan - impulsive, knows better than authority, makes the mistakes of inexperience versus the older, more jaded characters who take fewer risks. Unlucky is the understatement! He's very clever but impulsive, headstrong and arrogant he's inexperienced and shows poor judgement but is not prepared to stay back when told, like Isabelle he's the architect of all his own misfortunes - but he redeems himself as he blames no one other than himself. I wonder what trouble he'll get into next week. This week he was fired at by a sniper, held hostage again and had a gun held up to his neck. Last week he was in a car crash, beaten up, kidnapped and tied up in a van which was then set on fire. Also, Pontus seems to be unlucky with his job.
